Description:

The Enterprise Edition offers the best of both worlds for the corporate developer who needs visual controls for rapid application development, as well as the power and flexibility of dynamic-link libraries for developing core application systems, and support for object-oriented design of those applications. Including ActiveX controls, dynamic link libraries (DLLs), and C++ classes and their source, the Enterprise Edition is suitable for use with virtually any Windows development environment or scripting tool. A total of twenty controls and nineteen libraries provide client interfaces for application protocols such as the File Transfer Protocol, Simple Mail Transfer Protocol, Post Office Protocol and Telnet Protocol.

All of the controls share many common attributes. The network controls support both synchronous (blocking) and asynchronous modes of operation, and also include the ability to log the Windows Sockets function calls for debugging purposes. All of the controls are thread-safe and can be used in multithreaded containers, such as Internet Explorer. With the exception of the visually oriented controls (the browser, image viewer and terminal emulation controls), they can also be used as simple Automation objects, without requiring that they be placed on a form or inside another container. The libraries also support both synchronous and asynchronous modes of operation, and are thread-safe as well. The C++ classes support asynchronous operations in such a way as to make it easier to program the message-handling aspects of applications. The C++ class corresponding to the terminal emulation library implements an abstract display window, to couple the flexibility of the library with window management functions.

With full support for 32-bit Windows platforms and virtually every Windows development tool along with illustrative samples and a complete User’s Guide and Technical Reference.
